You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailTheHansen Elementary School is seeking an exceptional and dynamic candidate to serve as the 5th Grade Bubble Class teacher for the upcoming school year beginning in August 2025. The 5th Grade Bubble Class teacher will join a vibrant and supportive team that places a high priority on collaboration creativity flexibility and commitment to the goals of the District and to our students families and staff.
TheHansen Elementary School is an inclusive community for all students and staff and serve over 540 Students students in grades K5. We are eager to find the next member of our team who collaborates with other educators to create the conditions necessary so that every child experiences the true joy of learning the excitement of achievement areas of passion and an authentic sense of belonging in their school.
JOB SUMMARY
Teachers provide a wellorganized academically challenging culturally and linguistically responsive class environment in which students can access curriculum and make progress towards Massachusetts standards and develop social and emotional skills in order to participate in society while providing a safe supportive and welcoming educational environment for all students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences that meet the needs of all learners
2. Develop lesson plans that align with the state standards and districtdetermined high quality instructional curricula and are culturally and linguistically responsive
3. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
4. Continuously engage in reflective practice regarding curricula instruction and culturally responsive practices
5. Create culturally and linguistically responsive classroom environment
6. Build strong relationships with students to create a culture of belonging
7. Prepare the classroom for class activities
8. Incorporate a variety of culturally and linguistically responsive learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
9. Identify select and implement differentiated instructional resources and methods to meet students varying needs based on data
10. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment aligned to the District approved curriculum and/or Massachusetts State Standards
11. Use relevant technology to support instruction
12. Follows and implements individual student safety plans IEPs 504s health care plans behavior support plans etc.
13. Observe and evaluate students performance and development using data; use data to drive decisions and adapt instruction assessments and assignments as appropriate
14. Provide appropriate feedback on assessments and/or student work
15. Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students using data Page 2 of 3
16. Maintain accurate and complete records of students progress development and attendance as appropriate
17. Support the social and emotional wellbeing of students during the school day
18. Manage student behavior in the classroom and school by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures in accordance with the student handbook
19. Participate in department and school meetings parent/guardian meetings
20. Communicate necessary information regularly to students colleagues and parents/guardians regarding student progress and student needs
21. Keep up to date with developments in subject area teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
22. Collaborate with student services staff; special educators and other related service providers
23. Performs other duties specifically articulated within the collective bargaining agreement as assigned by building principal and/or District administration
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Maintain Valid Massachusetts DESE teacher certification that is appropriate for the grade level and subject area. (Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university.)
2. Highly Qualified as per Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
3. Proven ability to relate to a variety of constituencies including but not limited to: administrators parents/guardians teachers students other school staff and visitors
4. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
5. Wellorganized with excellent leadership abilities
6. Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
7. Working knowledge of relevant technologies: internet and email systems; word processing presentation and spreadsheet software; and educational software
8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the school department may find appropriate and acceptable
