Description
Position Title: Nursing Simulation Coordinator.
Department: Nursing.
Classification: NonExempt.
FTE: 0.50.
Work Schedule: 40 hours a week during the Fall and Spring term. Off during academic breaks.
Hourly Rate: $32.00 $36.00.
Essential Job Duties:
- Attend simulation training.
- Assist nursing faculty with simulations.
- Train student workers to participate in simulations.
- Role model safe and effective clinical practice.
- Play interprofessional roles in the simulation.
- Facilitate the use of the PNCI computer software to enhance nursing faculty use of this resource. Maintain the simulators by scheduling maintenance appointments and troubleshooting issues. Maintain IT simulation equipment in simulation rooms in cooperation with IT.
- Operate all technology during simulations.
- Coordinate simulation setup with nursing faculty and nursing student TAs.
- Create simulation accommodations for students with special assistance needs. Utilize current evidencebased practice when implementing simulations with students. Verbalize concern about student performance to nursing faculty.
- Create charting documents using Google.
- Report need for additional lab supplies or equipment needs.
Supervision Received and Exercised:
- Reports to the Department Chair of Nursing.
- This position does not supervise staff or students.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in nursing
- Experience: At least one year of simulation experience. 2 years of recent nursing clinical experience across the lifespan.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Masters degree in nursing education preferred.
- Experience: 2 years of recent nursing simulation experience preferably across the lifespan is preferred.
Prerequisites:
- Employment in this position is conditioned upon successful completion of a background check which may include: criminal background checks reference checks verification of work history verification of any required academic credentials licenses and/or certifications a motor vehicle check verification of DOT certification a credit check employment eligibility verification and/or a preemployment physical. Whether a background check is deemed successfully completed will be at the sole discretion of St. Olaf College. Please note St. Olaf College reserves the right to conduct periodic background checks at its sole discretion.
