Job Description

*NOT A REMOTE POSITION. POSITION IS LOCATED IN THE DALLAS/FORT WORTH AREA.

OVERVIEW

The ElectronicsStrategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developinga worldclass supplier base for Rochester Sensors by conducting ongoing supplier development and negotiating the best quality delivery value and technique combinations possible. To make item sourcing and tooling decisions that result in benefit to the Company both short term and long term. To assist in optimizing inventory levels to assure continuity of supply for production usage and spares sales.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute category strategy aligned with business goals and market trend.
  • Collaborate with various teams to identify sources to implement new product introduction.
  • Maintain robust category management tools and processes ensuring seamless strategy execution across the organization.
  • Monitor and evaluate category performance leveraging key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
  • Lead supplier negotiations ensuring favorable terms and conditions to drive cost savings and strengthen supplier relationships.
  • Leads crossfunctional teams and execute on time cost reduction projects and strategies to optimize product profitability while considering market dynamics and customer value perception while maintaining viability of suppliers always considering Total cost of ownership and manufacturing footprint.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends competitor activities and technological advancements to provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Evaluate supplier performance conduct supplier audits and ensure compliance.
  • Manage supplier performance through data collection metrics rootcause analysis and scorecard publication processes.
  • Works closely with Design Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Quality Assurance and Logistics personnel to ensure timely resolution to all problems encountered in the process of procuring existing and new components.
  • Develop corrective actions to resolve supply chain constraints and establish contingency plans to prevent production shutdowns due to material shortages.
  • Travels domestically and/or internationally on an infrequent basis as required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in business Engineering Materials Management or Supply Chain with an advanced degree such as an MBA preferred or an equivalent level of experience.
  • Ten plus years of Previous experience in procurement sourcing or category management is essential CPM/CPIM certification desired.
  • Experience in Metallic processes and materials: Raw metal stamping forging die casting machining wire forming assemblies etc.
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Knowledge of inventory management and demand forecasting techniques.
  • Understanding of pricing strategies margin analysis and profitability optimization.
  • Experience in vendor management and negotiations.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Basic knowledge of trade compliance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bending and Stooping: Frequent bending stooping and crouching.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects often up to 1020 pounds independently or with assistance.
  • Standing and Walking: Extended periods of standing and walking throughout the workday.
