Prospective FY 26 Full Time Opening for a Special Education TeacherSUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:Under the direction of the program supervisor and Director of Special Education the Licensed Special Education Teacher develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities; evaluates and assesses student progress against instructional objectives; follows Massachusetts mandated due process procedures and functions as IEP manager to assigned students. Training and experience in educational theory and practice for students with social and emotional to provide physical assistance to students as LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:Valid Massachusetts teaching license in special education 512 Moderate Disabilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvide academic instruction and behavior modification approaches in a highly structured therapeutic day school setting. In a small class setting the teacher will address the academic and emotional/behavior needs of the students set forth in their Individual Education Plan (IEP).Plans and carries out Individual Educational Programs (IEPs) that meet student needs and conform to state and federal laws including preparation of reports are accurate and on time including IEP goals for annual meetings report cards and progress services to assigned students so that the students may access the general curriculum consistent with Massachusetts state and assumes responsibility for development and implementation of annual goals and specific objectives to meet the needs of each individual rapport and communicates collaboratively with other teachers support staff administration parents and accurate and complete records on each student including but not limited to: educational progress educational evaluation attendance communications with other professionals and reports and records as required by the Collaborative sending school districts and/or state and/or federal laws and regulations in a timely fashion to the program supervisor administrator and special education a structured classroom to ensure the safety and promote the educational progress of each and plan appropriate interventions to avoid student behavior issues and use therapeutic restraints when deemed a communication system with parents and other caregivers of reports any changes in schedule staff absences and discipline incidents to the program a continued awareness and commitment to cultural diversity religious and personal values and traditions of persons served and their families in order to accomplish the mission of the to the LPVEC Personnel Policies and to the rules and regulations of the publicschool building to which the teacher is other essential duties as determined by the Program Supervisor Director of Special Education or Executive Director and which are designated as essential and supervises services of paraprofessional staff related service providers and consultants in the in the evaluation of paraprofessional staff working in the the work of consultants in the classroom and incorporates their recommendations into classroom activities.
