JOB DESCRIPTION
St. Jude School a vibrant and welcoming Catholic elementary school community in East Vancouver is seeking dedicated and passionate PrimaryEducational Assistants to fill full time positions for theSchool Year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education a commitment to working with neurodiverse children and a passion for helping students succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher and Learning Resource Teacher by
- Providing classroom support to students with varying levels of need both one on one and in small groups
- Supervising and supporting students during independent work and group activities
- Helping to implement individualized education plans for students
- Tracking learning goals related to the individualized education plan
- Participating in Gradelevel meetings with the classroom teacher and Learning Resource Teacher
- Attending and participating in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required
- Interacting professionally and discretely with students parents and other staff
Qualifications:
- Certification in education or related field is preferred
- Experience working with children with neurodiverse abilities is preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work as a team member and maintain positive relationships with students parents and staff
- Practicing Catholic applicants are preferred
