THE OPPORTUNITY
The Summer Student will support the People & Culture (P&C) team in maintaining accurate employee data assisting with human capital management (HCM) system implementation and conducting research to support P&C initiatives. This is an opportunity to work handson with people management technology helping shape P&C systems and processes that drive real impact.
JOB DETAILS
Accurately input and update employee information in the UKG platform.
Support the implementation of new HCM modules through data preparation testing and documentation.
Conduct research and analyze jobs competency frameworks and industry trends.
Assist in preparing reports on P&C metrics and employee data.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and data protection regulations.
Provide general support to the P&C team as needed.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are seeking a techsavvy and motivated individual who will be comfortable handling sensitive information with discretion. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative and adaptability with a strategic focus. They will have a passion for learning and will bring a fresh perspective to our team.
THE REQUIREMENTS
3rd or 4th year student in a postsecondary degree program in Business with a focus in Human Resources.
Relevant coursework in recruitment and selection workforce planning human capital management systems people analytics job evaluation and job analysis are assets.
Some familiarity with HCM platforms with a passion for learning more is preferred.
Basic understanding of P&C principles and administrative processes is preferred.
Some experience with data entry and digital file organization.
Experienced in using digital tools within the Microsoft environment including Outlook Word Excel SharePoint and Teams.
WHAT WE OFFER
The compensation for this position is between $22 and $25 per hour dependent on education and experience.
Our hybrid work model is designed for balance with monthly allowances to support remote work and inoffice collaboration on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This term fulltime role (36.25 hours/week MondayFriday) is based in our downtown Edmonton office.
