Secondary Summer School
Mathematics Teacher
(Grades 5 to 12 currently)
THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO CURRENT CONTINUING AND PROVISIONAL EMPLOYEES ONLY!
This position is open until filled.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Northshore School District is accepting online applications for Secondary Summer School. These teachers are responsible for planning and teaching within their assignment and working cooperatively with other staff. Summer School classes are online with direct teaching and monitoring. Low enrollment may necessitate classes being canceled as late as the third day of summer school
Classes may include:
Mathematics Credit Retrieval
Algebra 1 (Semester 1) (0.5 credit)
Algebra 2 (Semester 1) (0.5 credit)
Geometry (Semester 1) (0.5 credit)
Algebra 1 (Semester 2) (0.5 credit)
Algebra 2 (Semester 2) (0.5 credit)
Geometry (Semester 2) (0.5 credit)
Accelerated Math
PreAlgebra 1 (7) (1.0 credit)
PreAlgebra 2 (8) (1.0 credit)
Algebra 1 (78) (1.0 credit)
Geometry (79) (1.0 credit)
Responsibilities Include:
- Working with administration and other staff to plan and implement the Summer School program
- Participating in curriculum and assessment training
- Create assign and evaluate homework
- Implementing curriculum instruction and assessment with appropriate materials
- Assisting in the management of the daily routine of Summer School
- Promoting positive interaction among all members of the school community
- Conferring with parents and staff about student achievement
- Maintaining good order and discipline
- Maintaining clean and orderly facilities
- Attending staff meetings training site setup and cleanup sessions
QUALIFICATIONS
- NSEA certificated employee currently holding a provisional or continuing contract
- Valid Washington teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s)
- Teaching experience relevant to the assignment including multiage mixed ability and/or smallgroup instruction
- Evidence of good classroom management and organizational skills including success with small group projectbased instruction
- Knowledge and experience in curriculum instruction and assessment across multiple grade levels
- Flexibility to meet student and school needs
Program Information:
Total Hours: Accelerated Math 120 hours per semester course
Credit Retrieval 45 hours per semester course
Dates: For Accelerated Math: July 7 2025 August 6 2025
For Credit Retrieval Classes: July 8 2025 July 31 2025
Schedule: Accelerated Math: Monday Friday; 8:00 am 12:00 pm
Credit Retrieval: TuesdayWednesdayThursday; 9:00 am 11:00 am
Salary: Employees Per Diem or C7 rate whichever is less (Per RCW 28A.400.200)
