Job Description
POSITION: Reading Specialist (15 hrs. per week)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- NH teacher certificationasReading & Writing Teacher or Reading and Writing Specialist or proof of eligibility for NH certification
- Bachelors degree or higher
- Experience preferred but not required
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: To provide all students with a quality educational program in which theyreach their full potential
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and prepare instruction based upon District curriculum and student needs
- Demonstrate knowledge of content areas and child development
- Provide instruction in Reading following district curriculum setting high and attainable outcomes
- Design and use assessment data to monitor progress of all students towards established standards maintaining accurate records
- Create an environment of respect and rapport that establishes a culture of learning
- Manage classroom procedures and student behavior
- Communicate with students and their families
- Collaborate with other educators within the school and across the District
- Implement 504 and IEP accommodations and modifications
- Actively participate within the professional community growing professionally reflecting on teaching and demonstrating professionalism
- Follow District policies and procedures
- Complete other duties as assigned by the principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:In accordance with the Jackson Personnel Policy for Contracted Employees.
WORK YEAR:187 day / school year position
EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Jackson Grammar School Boards policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel. The principal and/or administrative designee will be the evaluator.
