As a Project Support Officer at KBR you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of complex high profile Defence projects through highlevel administrative and operational assistance. You will work alongside multidisciplinary project teams and key stakeholders ensuring the seamless execution of project activities in accordance with Defence standards frameworks and tight timelines.

Your daytoday responsibilities will span scheduling coordination stakeholder liaison and documentation supportrequiring a proactive detailfocused approach. Your minutetaking will need to be precise professional and efficient as youll be responsible for capturing key actions and decisions across highlevel project and stakeholder meetings and discussions. Additionally proficiency with Objective is essential as you will be required to manage and maintain documentation and records in compliance with Defence document control protocols.

Defence experience is a must and your understanding of Defence environments procedures and stakeholder expectations will ensure your success in this role. Youll be instrumental in supporting compliance tracking project progress and ensuring smooth communication flows across teams and partners.

This is a fulltime permanent position based primarily in Canberra or potentially Melbourne.

This role requires an active AGSVA NV1 security clearance and the successful candidate must be willing to upgrade to NV2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning scheduling and coordination of project activities to ensure timely delivery.

  • Maintain and update project documentation including plans reports and registers.

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and project progress.

  • Provide administrative assistance to project managers including meeting scheduling minutetaking and correspondence management.

  • Monitor project risks and issues assisting in the implementation of mitigation strategies.

  • Support the monitoring of project budgets expenditures and financial reporting.

  • Ensure adherence to relevant policies procedures and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist with procurement inventory management and logistics for projectrelated activities.

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery.

Qualifications Experience and Knowledge:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in project support administration or coordination roles.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).

  • High attention to detail and problemsolving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • NV1/NV2 security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in the defence or government sector.

  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project Jira or Primavera).

  • Understanding of defence project frameworks such as CASG processes or ASDEFCON requirements.

  • Certification in project management will be advantageous.
