Responsibilities
Manage efficient daily operations of the HR office and provide administrative support including but not limited to managing the front desk phone general HR email inbox tracking and ordering supplies sorting mail submitting IT and facilities work orders and other office support duties. Provides frontline HR support and superior customer service. Partner with internal HR teams Payroll Recruiting to resolve manager and employee questions within defined timelines. Oversee background check program for the university. Schedules greets and assists new hires (benefits eligible students and adjuncts) in completing the I9 work authorization documents and other associated paperwork. Work with various departments to streamline new hire process for those employees who are not included on the online system: adjuncts temporary employees and student workers. Provides administrative support to the Human Resources and Office of Title IX and Civil Rights Compliance team including: meeting coordination and processing of invoices departmental purchase cards and budget. Maintain and create applicable standard operating procedures and proactively identify and address internal process improvement. Responsible for HR storage management. Assist team with various special projects. Confer regularly with immediate supervisor other department and University personnel and/or various individuals/organizations to plan and coordinate departmental activities interoffice communications in order to exchange information resolve problems etc. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associates Degree with at least two years of relevant administrative or HR experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong customer service skills and the ability to provide professional frontline HR support. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Strong judgment tact and discretion with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals at all levels. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across departments to resolve issues and improve processes. Attention to detail ensuring accuracy and consistency in all tasks and communications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn and utilize other technologies as needed. Resourceful and proactive problemsolver with the flexibility to adapt to ongoing change and continuously improve operations. Interest in professional growth in human resources and a commitment to continuous learning preferred.
