Job Description
Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Nurse Specialist Electrophysiology Device to join our team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.
Provides and manages direct nursing care to adult patients with specific cardiac diseases or health conditions. Autonomously and in collaboration with providers and other clinic staff provides advanced assessment/evaluation planning and implementation and intervention skills. Provides followup care to preestablished patients using written protocols within the scope of practice and PNHS standards. Strong computer writing and rhythm interpretation skills needed as well as an attention to detail. Remains abreast of newest treatment and technology advancements in the specialized area of nursing and cardiac implants and applying that knowledge using sound judgment in knowing when to consult with or refer patients to a provider or physician for treatment. Provide the highest quality cost effective patient care services in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and PNHS standards and connect the dots for patients.
Work Schedule:
- Monday Friday
- 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m. mix
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in nursing required.
- Experience with pacemakers ICDs and loop recorders from Medtronic Boston Scientific St. Jude/Abbott Labs Biotronik and Sorin/ELA.
- Prior experience and competency with heart rhythm interpretation also required.
- Current state certified registered nurses licensure
- BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.
- Strong clinical and human relations skills.
- Demonstrates knowledge of agerelated growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing and maintain standards of clinical skills and professional ethics established by the Nurse Practice Act and PNHS.
- Strong computer/tech skills also needed.
- Able to operate the following safely and effectively: various health testing devices (depending upon the area of specialty) telephone CRT printer and photocopier.
- Frequently used computer programs include EPIC PaceArt CareLink Latitude and Merlin websites in addition to Biotronik and Sorin/ELA.
- Will also be or become familiar with manufacturer specific programmers and have ability to transfer files via USB flash drives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors or masters Degree preferred
- Three to five years of nursing experience in a device clinic is also preferred.
- Knowledge of both Apple and PC products helpful.
