Job Duties
Western State Hospital is seeking a full time IT Specialist II who will provide system administration and technical support for specialized network infrastructure applications and systems within Western State Hospital (WSH) and the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents (CCCA). These include but are not limited to the staff and patient access and tracking systems (AMAG OSSI Centrak SARA) patient internet access (Broadband service) clinical applications (EHR Dental Lab Rehab Pharmacy etc.) and the segregated Building Automation System network infrastructure.
The IT Specialist II will also work with users and IT staff to resolve computer/network related problems in a timely and courteous manner; troubleshoot networked application communication issues; complete documentation of system and user guides related to network system modification within 24 hours; provide training to users impacted by network modifications or new configurations; and troubleshoot network related application or system issues.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to configure analyze and troubleshoot TCP/IP based networks (Ethernet FDDI 802.11 802.1x Broadband)
Working knowledge of information security standards (HIPAA Security Rule NIST 80053 or the Virginia Information Security Management Standard SEC501)
Advanced knowledge of the deployment configuration and support of Windows based desktops (Windows 11) and current Microsoft server operating systems (File Server IIS SharePoint)
Experience working with LAN/WAN systems
Network certification (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert Cisco Certified Network Professional CompTIA A Network or Certified Wireless Network Administrator)
