REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree required in Education Information Technology Computer Science or related field Two years of experience working with educational data systems
- Experience with data analysis
- Experience sharing data results and presenting a technology system to prospective clients
- Experience supporting a data management platform or help desk experience
- Demonstrated technology proficiency with personal computers to include desktop management file management and operations and working in a networked environment
- Experience with Excel specifically data aggregation comparison and validation
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Temperament to work under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor during highly visible situations
- Strong personal initiative problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex problems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree
- Experience using standardized test data including STAAR and valueadded calculations
- Experience with Tableau
- Experience with complex data analysis
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary role of the Data Analyst is to provide guidance and support for campuses/districts using the data management systems.. The Data Analyst reports directly to the Director of Human Capital Management Strategies within the TxCEE Department with duties including but not limited to the following:
- Providing guidance to districts regarding the quality and accuracy of data across systems
- Conducting data needs assessments with districts and developing protocols for data integration/management
- Providing technical support to districts regarding data transfer error reports and data correction for TIA.
- Assisting campuses and districts with documentation data collection/management and reporting
- Providing support around TIA Data Hub training especially valueadded measures
- Supporting timely import of data to data management systems
- Conduct outreach to develop partnerships with assessment organizations like NWEA MAP
- Developing and facilitating inperson and online training for campus and district audiences as needed
- Developing timelines and process manuals for project implementation
- Documenting activities and maintaining appropriate verification of project objective
- Maintaining confidentiality in dealing with client schools
- Attending and participating in all meetings of the TxCEE department or with Region 18 as appropriate
- Keeping abreast of current instructional practices technology tools and techniques professional literature and state and federal regulations related to job responsibilities
- Acquiring developing and demonstrating new skills by participating in professional growth activities
- Maintaining open communication and confidentiality in accordance with the Texas Professional Standards of Ethics
- Exhibiting a professional demeanor when communicating with clients
- Performing other duties as assigned
