Job Description

Are you ready to lead the charge in Environment Health & Safety (EHS) at a global leader in mining and rock solutions Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions (SMR) seeks a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team in a role combining the responsibilities of Vice President of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) at SMR and Head of EHS at Sandvik Group. This unique role offers the opportunity to shape EHS strategies and drive excellence across our organization.

Your mission
This role is divided in two major responsibilities. You spend around 80 percent of your time as Vice President of EHS at SMR supporting and assisting the SMR Management Team and Divisions/Sales Areas in implementing the Sandvik EHS Policy by continually improving our EHS culture leadership and management systems. You lead the SMR Global EHS (GEHS) Common Function ensuring it has the resources and skills to provide quality support. In particular GEHS develops and improves the Annual EHS Plan template that each SMR location implements and the EHS360 database for efficient leading and lagging data collection and reporting. You establish and implement an EHS Internal Audit/Review program to demonstrate compliance and identify areas for improvement. Liaising with other SMR Common Functions and EHS professionals from customers and peer companies is also part of your role.

As Head of EHS at Sandvik Group you propose EHS policies and strategies for approval by the Sandvik Board chair the Sandvik EHS Council and represent the Group EHS Function on related councils and teams. You also collect consolidate and report EHS compliance and performance information for internal and external stakeholders. You ensure these documents and their requirements are communicated across the Sandvik Group and participate in teams developing Group documents such as Codes of Conduct.

Youre based at or near an established Sandvik office or facility but will be required to travel frequently including to our headquarters at World Trade Center in Stockholm. The role reports to both the VP HR&EHS in SMR and the EVP HR at Sandvik Group

Your profile
Were looking for a senior leader with postgraduate qualifications in EHSrelated disciplines and extensive operational EHS experience ideally within the mining or allied industries. You should have a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain best practice EHS Management Systems and a robust EHS Culture within a large global company. Strong management and leadership abilities are essential along with high attention to detail to ensure timely accurate and complete information and advice.

The ideal candidate possesses strong alignment with Sandvik Values including a commitment to diversity and inclusion. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence senior line management executives and managers. A proactive and collaborative approach is key to driving continuous improvement and fostering a positive EHS culture across the organization.
