Job Description

The Challenge: Grocery Management Tech is looking for Software Development Engineers who are passionate and innovative that have a heart for Nourishing People and the Planet to join our newly formed Engineering Services team. This team will be tackling some of our most complex and challenging Supply Chain and Instore projects and will deliver innovative technical solutions to advance the retail grocery industry.

The Team: Our vision is to be a comprehensive source and build item and offer maintenance tools such that every item has all the information to make purchasing or supply chain decisions every item that we have in stores is scannable and sellable by our Under the Roof (UTR) and retail technology and every item that we sell in our stores is listed online.

The Role: Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment. As a GMT Software Development Engineer you will help tackle a diverse landscape of technical challenges. We are an earlystage initiative and you will play an active role in translating business requirements into concrete systems and prototyping concepts and working with technology leaders within the team and across the business.

The Work: You will design develop and deploy reliable distributed solutions that operate at Amazon scale. You will work with a variety of core languages and technologies including Java Linux and AWS services. You will tackle challenging novel situations every day and will have the opportunity to redefine an industry while working with different teams across different grocery banners. Along the way we guarantee that youll learn a ton have fun and make a positive impact on many people. Most importantly youll be contributing to our Higher Purpose of Nourishing People and the Planet!

Key job responsibilities
Collaborate with experienced crossdisciplinary Amazonians to conceive design and bring innovative products and services to market.
Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
Build distributed storage index and query systems that are scalable faulttolerant low cost and easy to manage/use.
Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
Work in an agile environment to deliver highquality software

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
