As a Regional Manager in the Appraisal Department you will oversee all appraisal activities within your designated region ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. You will manage a team of statelicensed/certified real estate appraisers promoting professional growth and maintaining highquality standards. Your role involves active communication and collaboration with senior managers to support strategic initiatives and ensure market awareness.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee all appraisal activities within the region supporting the Area Appraisal Manager in executing department strategy and processes.
- Ensure appraisal services are completed within expected service level agreements and meet the banks quality standards.
- Manage statelicensed/certified real estate appraisers and support staff promoting professional growth and expertise.
- Ensure compliance with the banks appraisal policies FIRREA USPAP and financial regulatory agency requirements.
- Implements and monitors the Banks quality control process for real estate appraisals in conformance with Bank and Regulatory Agencies safety and soundness requirements.
- Stay informed on local regional national and international events and trends impacting real estate values in assigned markets.
- Represent the department and consult with senior managers in credit sales review and portfolio monitoring as appropriate.
- Lead regular team meetings to ensure a cohesive understanding of best practices change events collaborative solutions and consistency.
- Actively communicate to promote a collaborative inclusive workplace and proactive culture. Communicate findings on global issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Hire train and support the ongoing expansion of professional expertise among appraisal staff.
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Requires a minimum 4year college degree.
- A State Certified General Appraiser License.
- Minimum 10 years experience appraising and or reviewing appraisals of multifamily and/or commercial properties.
- Ability to analyze properties with extremely complex characteristics.
- Experience performing or reviewing appraisals for financial institutions.
- Prior management experience or demonstrated leadership qualities.
- Strong analytical business writing and oral communication skills are a must.
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving.
- Computer/technology knowledge is required as well as a proficiency in MS Word Excel and Outlook (Microsoft Office Suite). Proficiency in Discounted Cash Flow Analysis.
- Deep knowledge of local real estate metro areas and development of local market knowledge and national real estate trends is required.
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute is preferred.
- Wellseasoned real estate appraisal expert who wants to bring their significant expertise and knowledge to a team that specializes in multifamily and commercial appraisal assignments with a strong emphasis on multifamily product ranging from 5 to 500 units
