Job Description:

Thoracic Medical Oncologist at the University of Florida. The University of Florida Department of Medicine is seeking applications for a fulltime medical oncologist for a clinicianresearcher track position in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Assistant Professor rank or higher. This position seeks a boardcertified/boardeligible medical oncologist with experience and interest in thoracic oncology and developing and conducting clinical trials. Applicants must be eligible for a Florida Medical License. This individual will have a primarily clinical assignment but will also be expected todevelop participate in and lead clinical/translational research projects; embrace teamoriented research; engage in teaching students housestaff and fellows in the clinic and inpatient settings; and provide direct patient care at our Gainesville campus. A track record of prior clinical research and scholarly activity is highly preferred. Academic interests could include translational research earlyphase clinical trials symptom management observational studies and/or health disparities.

Faculty in the UF Division of Hematology and Oncology are members of the University of Florida Health Cancer Center (UFHCC) the only NCIdesignated Cancer Center in North Central Florida. The center is also the only NCIDesignated Cancer Center based at a public university in Florida. The UFHCC blends comprehensive patient care and innovative research in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment with members from 11 of the 16 colleges at the University of Florida (UF). UF ranked #6 among public universities by U.S. News & World Report and #4 by Forbes in 2024 stands as a premier research institution driving innovation and discovery while delivering exceptional value and academic excellence.

Resources available for professional development at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center include leadership education and research training through support from the UF Health Cancer Center Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI) formal mentorship programs and supported opportunities for teaching and research. The UF Health Cancer Center Clinical Research Office provides clinical research support.

Expected Salary:

Salary is negotiable commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must be boardcertified or board eligible in Medical Oncology and Hematology and be eligible for a Florida Medical License.
