At NEC Software Solutions our Government team builds digital systems that help Government departments and local councils deliver essential public services from Revenues and Benefits Citizen engagement and various diverse central government services.
As a Software Developer Apprentice youll play a meaningful role in shaping technology that directly impacts communities across the UK. Youll begin with an immersive 8week boot camp to build strong technical foundations followed by a structured apprenticeship (software development L4 qualification ) combining realworld experience with professional development.

What Youll Do
Join a development team delivering software solutions for central and local government.
Write test and maintain code for webbased applications.
Contribute to the full Software Development Life Cycle from planning and coding to testing and deployment.
Apply the skills gained during the bootcamp and apprenticeship to real NEC projects.
Take part in team meetings sprint planning and code reviews.
Learn continuously through structured training project work and mentoring.
What Youll Bring
A genuine passion for technology and solving problems.
Some prior exposure to coding or digital systems (e.g. selflearning or online courses).
Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Willingness to complete an 8week fulltime bootcamp at the start of the programme.
The right to work in the UK and eligibility for apprenticeship funding.

o Ensure youre working on meaningful coding tasks that support your training.
o Support your learning and professional development time.
o Attend your Bootcamp Completion Event in week 8.

Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
This programme is not suitable for nocode or lowcode positions.
Completion of required prereading prior to the boot camp.
You must be available for full attendance throughout the 8week boot camp.
You must be enthusiastic and highly driven by technology with a passion to grow and carve a career with an industry leading Corporation. Excellent communication skills are a must
