Lead Engineer, Total Fund Management Trading, Public Markets Technology

You will work as a Lead Engineer in Trading Technology Public Market Investments team partnering with CPPIBs traders investment professionals and operations staff to design and implement solutions enabling trading and post trade activities. You will be responsible for leading developers and hands on development of solutions covering a number of asset classes including equities fixed income derivatives OTC and FX.

Through close partnership with traders investment professionals and operations you will see firsthand how your software is impacting trade activities and delivering longterm value to the CPP Fund for the benefit of 20 million CPP contributors and beneficiaries.

As a Lead Software Engineer you will guide and participate in building and supporting valueadd technology solutions and products endtoend.  You will also demonstrate leadership and drive engineering excellence within your team and influence the same across the Technology & Data department.

Accountabilities:

• Conceptualize design build test and support technology solutions endtoend to enable complex business capabilities in an Agile environment that includes business and T&D partner teams. 
• Drive engineering excellence and continuous improvement within the team and influence similar improvements across teams providing technical leadership and coaching
• Demonstrate and apply advanced understanding of technical landscape and the business capabilities it supports to guide others
• Foster and enable agility and innovation through experimentation and early feedback ensuring responsiveness to evolving business needs
• Succinctly frame problems engage appropriately with colleagues to think deeply about broad problems and gain buyin on wellreasoned recommendations
• Facilitate rootcauseanalysis involving multiple teams
• Adhere to Agile SDLC and execute related duties as required.
• Foster collaboration and mentorship promoting a culture of feedback learning and professional growth
• Maintain strong relationships with business partners peer IT teams and vendor partners.

Qualifications :

• Undergraduate degree or college diploma in related field (e.g. Engineering Computer Science). 
• 6 years of relevant experience. 
• Extensive experience working with various programming languages (Python C Java etc.)
• Experience with software development concepts including version control testing methodologies and agile development practices
• Extensive experience writing clean readable and welldocumented code while paying attention to details and adhering to coding standards
• Good understanding of trading derivatives trade life cycle with an eagerness to contribute to the systems that support them.
• Knowledge of Bloomberg and/or Murex trading platforms is a bonus.
• Knowledge of FIX protocol is preferred
• Passion to expand your domain knowledge both on the job and through continued education in courses such as the CFA CSC and DFC.
• Knowledge of technologies for Cloud development. Experience working with AWS is must.
