Data Modeler with extensive exp in Cloud Data Modelling and ERwin ER/Studio PowerDesigner systems
1 Onsite Candidate
Location Calgary (Canada) Vancouver (Canada)
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Data Model Design: Creating conceptual logical and physical data models to represent data entities attributes and relationships ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Requirements Analysis: Collaborating with business stakeholders and data analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models.
- Database Schema Development: Designing and implementing database schemas tables views and indexes based on data models.
- Data Modeling Standards: Establishing and enforcing data modeling standards best practices and data governance policies.
- Data Quality and Integrity: Ensuring data accuracy consistency and integrity through data profiling validation and cleansing.
- Performance Optimization: Optimizing data models and database queries for performance and scalability.
- Documentation: Documenting data models data dictionaries and data flow diagrams for clarity and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelors or masters degree in computer science Information Systems or a related field.
- Experience: Several years of experience in data modeling database design and data warehousing.
- Data Modeling Techniques: Strong understanding of various data modeling methodologies including relational dimensional and NoSQL data modeling.
- Experience in Data Modeling for building Azure Data Marts Data Lakes and Analytics based system.
- Experience in Azure Synapse Snowflake Azure DevOps Azure Bulk API Netezza Tableau Business Objects etc for Data Modeling activities.
- Exposure to AI Capabilities Github Copilot Large/Small/Medium Language Mediums and Automation solutions.
- Data Modeling Tools: Proficiency in using data modeling tools such as ERwin ER/Studio PowerDesigner or similar.
- Database Management Systems: Expertise in database management systems (DBMS) like Oracle SQL Server MySQL MongoDB or PostgreSQL.
- SQL Proficiency: Excellent SQL skills for data manipulation querying and analysis.
- Data Warehousing and ETL: Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Analytical and ProblemSolving Skills: Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities to identify and resolve datarelated issues.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Data Governance: Familiarity with data governance principles and data quality management.
