Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Business Unit Manager Oncology to join our dynamic and innovative Citywest office in Dublin.

The Oncology Business Unit Manager aspires to cultivate a team equipped with unmatched expertise agility and dedication to excellence. In this pivotal role you will coordinate facilitate and lead the strategic development tactical implementation and financial planning components of all topics of the Brand Strategy and manage customer and other commercial activities including leading and coaching Sales Force to maximise brand sales and margin placing the patient at the center of any efforts and operating within AbbVie business code of conduct policies and all applicable laws and regulations. This is a People Manager role and reports directly into the Business Unit Director for Oncology.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Execute marketing and sales initiatives as per Brand Plan to exceed sales margin and budget goals.
  • Unite the team with a shared vision and objectives to drive success.
  • Collaborate with Brand Team members to develop strategy alongside Global Brand Team.
  • Cultivate an innovative culture and a proactive approach to projects and opportunities.
  • Promote teamwork and robust communication within the Brand Team.
  • Organise and facilitate Brand Team meetings.
  • Coach and develop sales teams to achieve targets and improve performance.
  • Oversee financial planning and outcomes related to brand performance.
  • Build crossfunctional teams and ensure effective communication between teams for optimised strategy execution.
  • Foster talent growth and succession planning in sales and marketing.
  • Align local brand strategies with global and area objectives.
  • Demonstrate AbbVies culture and enable effective Brand Team execution.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent with successful marketing and sales leadership experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
  • 5 years relevant experience in oncology preferred.
  • Ability to develop business vision and translate it into practical strategies.
  • Proven success in leading managing and coaching teams; experienced in talent development and performance management.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare environment and its dynamics.
  • Deep knowledge of strategic and tactical marketing and sales principles.
  • Effective operation and leadership within a matrix structure.
  • Solid understanding of finance principles and processes.
  • Key Relationships:
    • External: Healthcare professionals in relevant therapy areas.
    • Internal: Collaborate with Brand Team Leadership Team Area Commercial Director WEC & Global Teams.
