The City of Battle Creek is looking for a sworn officer that services as the Police Department point of contact for Summit Pointe medical institutions and specialty courts regarding Community Mental Health related issues and training. Follows up with CIT referrals to ensure continuity of process and systems. Also works to identify and correct system gaps throughout the CMH process. Conducts community referrals and engages in community awareness. Performs related duties as required. The CMH Liaison Officer must possess case management skills effective organizational management skills technological capabilities interpersonal relationship skills and a compassion for persons in mental crisis and the systems of care. This position is part time and can work up to 30 hours/week.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Expected to perform the following for it is a critical part of the position: running driving motor vehicles at a high rate of speed lifting (over 50 lbs.) pushing or pulling climbing bending reaching hand dexterity (grasping holding) reading writing eyehand coordination seeing (near and/or far color depth field of vision) hearing talking contact with the general public working independently overtime inside and outside and at night.
