Location Requirement: Applicants must reside in South Carolina North Carolina Georgia Tennessee Kentucky or Virginia.

As a Litigation Paralegal at The Jeffcoat Firm youll guide clients through the civil case process from treatment to settlement. You will be the primary point of contact for the client and act as the middleman communicating with the insurance companies on the clients behalf. The work is fastpaced and collaborative working alongside Attorneys Record Coordinators and Legal Assistants.


What youll be doing:

  • Ethical compliance with the SC Rules of Professional Conduct.
  • Prepare review and edit documents including but not limited to discovery demand letters correspondence and pleadings.
  • Scheduling with clients medical providers witnesses and court proceedings.
  • Case preparation and filing organization of documents and collection of relevant records.
  • Organize and maintain case files attorney notebooks databases spreadsheets and other material.
  • Maintaining case files and updating case management software.
  • Drafting correspondence legal documents and mediation statements.
  • Service of process and resolves service issues.
  • Process 3rd party invoices.
  • Assisting in the preparation of pleadings motions and discovery requests.
  • Assist Attorneys with preparation of clients and witnesses for deposition.
  • Assisting with trial preparation including organizing exhibits and witness preparation.
  • Delegate tasks to Civil Case Manager as needed.
  • Attends required morning and monthly meetings.
  • Performs other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Who you are:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent. Degree in Paralegal Studies or Paralegal Certificate preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years litigation experience as a paralegal.
  • Familiarity with state and federal court procedures and rules.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Experience with Litify Case Management preferred.
  • Reliable transportation required.
