KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Interacts with outside contractors and vendors as required.
  • Demonstrates full understanding of standard operating procedures as well as the organizations policies procedures and practices.
  • Shows initiative in solving problems while seeking supervisory guidance as necessary.
  • Displays good judgement and an ability to make decisions that are in the best interest of the organization and its guests.
  • Performs with an overall understanding of the mission and operation of the organization and the critical role Facilities plays in this environment.
  • Selfstarter that works well in a collaborative/team setting.
  • Effective in completing work timely accurately and efficiently.
  • Must be willing to work nights weekends and holidays as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Two (2) years experience in specific skill area or and education certification from an accredited institution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required however not exhaustive of all duties.

  • Plumbing Check faucets toilets and sinks for leaks clogs or signs of wear and use basic tools like plungers or snakes to clear minor clogs in drains and toilets.
  • Electrical Replace burntout light bulbs and faulty ballasts in fixtures throughout the building.
  • HVAC Replace air filters in HVAC units to maintain air quality and system efficiency and help senior technicians in inspecting heating and cooling equipment for performance wear and potential issues
  • Central Plant Assist with Daily logs for Chillers and Boilers.
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Safety Must have a basic understanding of all associated regulatory safety requirements including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Lock Out Tag Out Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Arc Flash and Hazardous Communications.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl; and

talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Virginia drivers license and Virginia Lottery Gaming License.
