What Youll Be Doing
Join the Alternate Solutions Group (ASG) as a Data Science Associate and make a real difference for our clients. Within CIBC Global Markets the Alternate Solutions Group was launched in 2013 with a mandate to develop innovative and creative technologydriven capital markets solutions. This group is an unconventional capital markets organization that combines the innovative spirit and agility of a FinTech startup with the financial strength and strong governance protocols of a major financial institution. ASG has been recognized as a global leader in providing disruptive technological capital markets solutions in several product areas including Cross Border Payments Dynamic Currency Conversion Multicurrency Prepaid Cards Foreign Cash & Precious Metals Online and white labeling thereof. ASGs client base stretches from some of the largest banks in the world to corporates and CIBCs retail clients.
We are hiring on the Conversion Services team. This team helps to enable international cardholders to pay in their local currency through various channels. These optional services provide foreign cardholders with the transparency of knowing exactly how much they will be debited. This is a fastpaced environment and you will work as part of a dynamic hardworking productionfocused product team. Your key mandate will be to optimize efficiency and accuracy in the data science team while driving revenue growth and delivering valueadded insights for our clients and businesses.
We are looking for a highenergy individual with an analytical background who will drive improvements within the Data Science team in the Conversion Services business. As an Associate you will play a crucial role in adding datadriven insights and driving new initiatives to help achieve ASGs goals. You will be an expert in Machine Learning and AI with a proven track record in model development and deployment. Using your insights you will translate business challenges into data science solutions. This role requires a strong analytical mindset the ability to work collaboratively and a passion for leveraging data to drive business decisions.

How Youll Succeed
Model Development and Deployment: You will design develop and implement machine learning models to tackle complex business challenges utilizing advanced statistical techniques and algorithms to enhance predictive accuracy. Additionally you will enable the deployment of these models into production environments ensuring they are scalable reliable and perform optimally.
Experimentation & A/B Testing: You will conduct rigorous experimentation and A/B testing to evaluate model performance and inform datadriven decisionmaking. Analyze results and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Documentation & Reporting: You will maintain comprehensive documentation of model development processes methodologies and results. Present findings and recommendations to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Product and process improvement: You will actively seek concrete and practical ways to enhance our product and overall value proposition for our clients. By understanding and reviewing our processes you will identify areas for improvement and propose as well as execute productivityenhancing solutions. Additionally you will stay current with industry trends and advancements in machine learning and data science allowing you to propose and implement improvements to existing models and processes.
Relationship Management: You will build effective relationships with internal stakeholders including sales delivery and technology as well as external clients to successfully execute initiatives and bring new clients capabilities and initiatives to market. In this role you will communicate complex concepts clearly and elegantly collaborating closely with business partners to understand their challenges by asking insightful questions and gathering necessary information. You will demonstrate a deep understanding of the business problem and address any questions or concerns raised by our partners.
Who You Are
You have a postgraduate degree in Data Science Computer Science Mathematics Engineering or other related fields or equivalent work experience. It is an asset if you have a Masters or Ph.D. in a related field.
You have at least 3 years of experience working in AI/ML Data Science or advanced analytics functions.
You have demonstrated experience with modern data science machine learning and ML toolkits such as Pandas scikitlearn XGBoost PyCaret. It is an asset if you have experience in building ML pipelines to streamline the deployment of models into production.
You have demonstrated interest in Capital Markets. Youve built a strong knowledge of Capital Markets FinTech or the financial services industries which allows you to analyze complex issues and identify & develop innovative opportunities.
