Job Title: Security Analyst Forensic Response (NWS 00792)
THIS POSITION IS SHORT TERM MAX 1000 HOURS PER CALENDAR YEAR
North Wind Services is actively seeking individuals who can contribute to national security within the science technology and engineering fields as part of our supplemental labor team at vital federal research and development installations supporting the Department of Energy. NWS has an established history of contributing to the success of their customers mission. Available employment opportunities may range from administrative and logistical support to advanced technical positions.
Qualified applicants must be a US citizen at least 18 years of age and able to meet preemployment requirements including any required physicals drug screen and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.
Successful candidates will be employees of NWS a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and wellqualified personnel who can advance the missions of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore CA. Though employed by NWS the employee will take daytoday direction from technical personnel employed directly by the research laboratories. Pay benefits Human Resource and Employment Management functions are provided by NWS.
The Global Security N Program has a parttime opening for a Security Analyst to assist with Forensic Response. The successful candidate will support specialized technical response activities under the Technical Nuclear Forensics Program. This role will leverage decades of operational forensic and scientific planning experience to provide expertise in complex nationally significant response operations enhance interagency coordination and guide response integration across government entities.
Essential Duties
Provide expertise in the development coordination and readiness of operations plans particularly involving forensic response and attribution.
Serve as advisor and interagency liaison for operations including coordination with FBI DOD DOE DHS and allied partners.
Develop technical and operational policies to support nationallevel training exercises and realworld crisis deployments.
Provide expert advice on integration of forensic and scientific elements into strategic planning efforts.
Evaluate and implement emerging technologies relevant to forensic operations and interagency crisis response.
Leverage subject matter expertise in nuclear forensics to support training and operational preparedness including instruction for the Federal Nuclear Expertise course focused on postdetonation response.
Essential Skills Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to maintain a U.S. DOE Q level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Bachelors degree in biology chemistry or related physical science discipline.
Minimum 20 years experience in WMD/CBRN operations forensic science and interagency/military liaison roles.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing training policy and operational capabilities for domestic and international CBRNE/WMD response units.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Essential Skills Knowledge and Abilities
Prior GS15 or equivalent federal government experience in mission planning or program management.
Demonstrated leadership in the formation and support of joint operations with Special Operations Forces and international partners.
Experience supporting exercises and operations under DOE DOD and FBI strategic frameworks.
Special Requirements
PrePlacement Medical Exam: A jobrelated preplacement medical examination may be required.
Preemployment drug test: External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post offer preemployment drug test.
Anticipated Clearance Level: Q and SCI (position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. In addition all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Qlevel clearance requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold multiple citizenships (U.S. and another country) you may be required to renounce your nonU.S. citizenship before a DOE L or Q clearance will be processed/granted.
