The Office of Education at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a fulltime contract (4 months) Research Analyst. Reporting to the Research Manager and working closely with the Bioethicist/Scientist and other members of the Education Research Team the successful candidate will assist in various research projects in bioethics and research in health professions and education. Duties include but are not limited to: conducting literature searches report writing and preparation of manuscripts for research publications data collection analysis ensuring compliance for scientific activities including Research Ethics Board (REB) protocols and some aspects of grant writing and presentation development.
The Research Analyst will work with internal and external interestholders from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will support a workplace that embraces diversity encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 1025 Queen St. West.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Bioethics or in a related health social or behavioural field with at least one year of relevant research experience in bioethics. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of qualitative research methods and ethical issues related to mental health substance use and chronic pain is required. Knowledge related to clinical and organizational ethics consultation is strongly preferred. Experience conducting semistructured interviews focus groups as well as analyzing quantitative and qualitative data for bioethics research projects is required. Previous experience writing grant proposals reports and manuscripts for research publications is required. Solid knowledge of health equity principles and tools is required. The successful candidate will possess strong PC software skills including experience with Microsoft Office (Word Access PowerPoint Excel) Internet search engines and the ability to learn new programs quickly. Demonstrating knowledge of KT strategies methodologies and tools is required. Excellent interpersonal communication (oral/written) and organizational skills are required along with creative problemsolving abilities. The successful candidate will possess the ability for selfdirected learning/working and the ability to work independently with supervision as well as collaboration and teamwork. Candidates also require the ability to work effectively in a widerange of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset. Lived or living experience with the mental health or substance use systems is an asset.
