EXPsKingstonoffice is currently seeking aMaterials Testing Field Technician/Site Inspectorto join their team. Reporting to the Office and Division Managers the successful candidate will be joining a fastpaced group. This is a casual position.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Executing onsite tests which includes casting cylinders slump test air content tests proof rolls compaction testing and reporting
- Executing soil sampling asphalt hotmix sampling on site
- General review of construction to confirm compliance with approved drawings and specifications
- Communication with various EXP team members
- The technicians will interact with the onsite clients (contractors) to provide excellent service and a quick response to their testing needs
What your experience looks like
- College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology is an asset
- Experience working in the field on construction project sites
- Must have strong people skills and ability to work with wide variety of staff and clients
- Strong writing skills including the ability to write field reports
- Must be able to communicate (verbally/writing) in English
- Ideally concrete/soils/asphalt testing experience and certifications would be advantageous
- Strong general math skills and proficient in reading engineering drawings
- Experience with civil site works (grading servicing etc.) is an asset
- Must have a valid Canadian drivers license and own vehicle (mileage allowance will be provided)
