Job Description
Position:FullTime Theology Teacher Position Description: Archbishop Hoban High School is seeking a fulltime Theology teacher for theschool year. This position includes instruction of five sections of Theology courses that align with school standards in a modified block schedule format. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire for creating an inclusive and positive classroom environment actively engaging students in learning and encourage a high level of academic achievement. We are a private Catholic high school in the heart of east Akron and rooted in the Holy Cross tradition. Our Holy Cross educators nurture student achievement and growth through collaborative planning and execution of curricula and encourage an expectation of lifelong learning. Position Responsibilities:Create authentic assessments that consistently provide sound practice and feedback resulting in student growth and various modes of technology into lesson plans and classroom with or are open to a variety of instructional methods and techniques to meet course objectives. Encourage a classroom culture of mutual respect and build positive relationships with student academic needs and report student progress as with parents and/or guardians in a timely manner regarding student compliance with all school policies procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe and productive environment for students. Participate in schoolwide events such as open houses meet the teacher night and communication problemsolving and time management the confidentiality of privileged Qualifications: Valid Ohio high school teaching completion of a Bachelors degree in Theology Religious Studies or related field. Masters preferred. Valid catholic high school catechist certificate or the eligibility to acquire knowledge of school technology (academic software Google etc.).Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Have attended or are willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting Gods Children training.
