Purpose of Position
This is a parttime nonbenefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is looking for a highly organized and energetic student to fill a front desk assistant position that will be assisting with answering the phone scheduling and setting up meetings various administrative tasks event planning managing various web content and will serve as the first point of contact when entering the office. This person will also assist the Office of the President with various administrative tasks as requested.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as the main greeter in the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Guests and visitors in our office include the President Deans faculty students and other offcampus dignitaries.
- Direct guests to appropriate offices or waiting room
- Take a message for staff who are out and ensure proper followup
- Answer the main office phone line
- Provide accurate and current information regarding the University of North Dakota
- Transfer phone calls to appropriate individuals or offices
- Take messages
- Complete a variety of administratorassigned tasks as needed including scanning filing placing phone calls running errands scheduling meetings setting up meeting rooms for remote attendees Excel and word processing planning events website creation and updates maintaining supply closet and working with staff to ensure everyone has the supplies they need.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the office suite and ensure the office remains presentable and tidy at all times.
- Taking out the garbage vacuuming floors dusting cleaning the microwave cleaning and stocking the refrigerator washing the window etc.
- Receive mail and package deliveries for various employees
- Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge of UND is helpful to direct visitors/callers to the appropriate offices
Office Hours needed Wednesday Friday 8:00am4:30pm other hours will be available on occasion - Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
