Assistant Athletics & Facilities Supervisor Parks and Recreation
City of Clayton Clayton Missouri
Fulltime Varies based on facility needs includes evenings and weekends
$29.56 per hour Comprehensive benefits starting day one
The City of Clayton is seeking an energetic and organized Assistant Athletics & Facilities Supervisor to join our Parks and Recreation Department. This handson role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fastpaced environment thrives on teamwork and has a passion for youth sports and community programming.
Youll oversee youth sports leagues sports camps athletic facility rentals and support daily operations at The Center of Clayton helping create safe fun and inclusive experiences for our residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and supervision of youth sports leagues and sports camps
- Hire train schedule and supervise parttime staff and contract instructors
- Coordinate facility rentals and gym court and field reservations
- Conduct staff meetings and provide ongoing training for sports staff
- Serve as liaison for volunteer coaches and manage league communication
- Monitor program budgets track expenses and assist with fee and salary studies
- Develop marketing materials and maintain program information on digital platforms
- Support department operations with weekend/evening facility oversight
- Contribute to special events and assist with overall Parks and Recreation services
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Parks & Recreation Sport Management or a related field
- At least one year of experience in sports programming or facility management
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a municipal or community recreation setting
- Familiarity with budget tracking and recreation management software
