Main Responsibilities:
To lead on the growth of the game of cricket within school and junior club settings across the county.
The role will entail an 80/20 split between management and delivery of programmes or initiatives. Primarily the role holder will oversee the delivery of Chance to Shine Lords Taverners National Programmes and Dorset Cricket community activities throughout the year.
They will be responsible for managing and utilising both contracted and casual workforce to ensure partner commitments are met and progress is being made against the Dorset Cricket strategic goals.
Management:
Manage mentor and support the team of Community Officers both fulltime and casual utilised within the county
Identify training opportunities for the further development of the Community Officers.
Ensure all partner portals are kept uptodate and reporting is delivered in a timely manner.
Provide management information as requested by Line Management.
To manage projects and develop strategies that relate to growing the game in urban areas within the county.
Develop case studies and best practice informatics to use within the club and school environments.
Oversee the provision of competitive offerings in schools and at junior levels in clubs.
To embed the use of social media and the Dorset Cricket website to engage with and inform the public of activities.
Foster relationships with local authorities & stakeholders to help drive participation.
Develop school holiday opportunities for new and developing cricketers to experience either developmental or competitive cricket.
Design and promote teacher training opportunities.
Communicate with our club network about ECB National Programmes and support clubs in preparation for their delivery.
Delivery:
Deliver high quality safe and welcoming cricket coaching sessions to a variety of participants across multiple programmes.
To constantly promote the game of cricket and Dorset Cricket in the community.
Essential skills and qualifications:
Cricket coaching qualification (Minimum ECB Level 2 or Core Coach).
Management of a sports delivery programme.
An understanding of Chance to Shine All Stars and Dynamos Cricket.
The ability to deliver high quality fun safe and enjoyable cricket sessions.
Confident in running coaching sessions with young people.
Current ECB DBS certificate.
Uptodate ECB Safeguarding certification.
A current First Aid certificate.
Drive to achieve key performance targets.
Desirable skills:
Experience in the delivery of Chance to Shine All Stars and Dynamos Cricket.
Experience of organising Dynamos Schools and other related competitions (indoors/outdoors).
Knowledge and experience of the transition from schools to local cricket clubs.
Knowledge of the Women & Girls club environment.
