Advance Counselor PRN Weekend Coverage Maryview Medical Center
Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Advanced Counselor provides direct patient care under the guidance of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal state and local regulations and within policies procedures and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH). May provide clinical and administrative supervision.
Licensing/Certification
Required to have one of the following:
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) ( if employed in Virginia)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with training Supervision (LPCCS) (preferred)
Education
Masters Counseling Expressive Art or related field (required)
Work Experience
2 years experience in healthcare social or human services setting. (required)
Essential Job Functions
Psychoeducation group facilitation
Provides inperson facilitation of intensive outpatient program (IOP) partial hospitalization program (PHP) or outpatient psychotherapy
Individual family and group psychotherapy
Participates in family and treatment team meetings
Provides crisis assessment and referral services
Completes psychosocial Assessments within scope and clinical supervision
Participates in discharge planning
Gathers information
Community resource knowledge and collaboration
May completes substance use disorder (SUD) screenings patient health questionnaire (PHQ9) ColumbiaSuicide Rating Scale (CSSRS) generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) posttramatic stress disorder (PTSD) screening and Social Determinants of Health screenings
SUD discharge planning
Completes Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR)
May complete postdischarge calls
May participate in 15 minute rounding
Assists with onboarding new and/or entry level Counselors
May take on more complex tasks and/or projects as needed
Successfully participates to complete BSMH and departmental specific training as
