The Production Director will lead the manufacturing function ensuring that all operations meet internal as well as customer requirements and standards. This role involves managing daily operations of assembly activities strategic planning driving continuous improvement and fostering a customercentric approach. The Director will be responsible for developing a motivated and flexible team adhering to Health Safety and Environmental requirements and embodying GEAs signature for leadership.
Leadership: Develop an enthusiastic motivated and flexible team by building strong working relationships and ensuring adherence to Health Safety and Environmental requirements.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice manufacturing vision strategy policies processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
Operational Management: Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer projects meeting quality and delivery expectations within budget and minimizing costs where possible.
FinancialPerformance: Responsible for financial performance meeting customer requirements and maintaining the orderly and productive operation of planned activities
Reporting:Produce capacity forecasts and presentations on production performance and improvement initiatives.
Continuous Improvement: Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training working practices and processes.
Employee Engagement: Foster a culture of engagement by encouraging team collaboration recognizing achievements and promoting professional development opportunities.
Safety Culture: Promote and maintain a strong safety culture ensuring that all health safety and environmental policies and procedures are followed to safeguard the wellbeing of staff and visitors.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate and liaise with other departmental managers regarding throughput of stock to ensure production targets are met
Operational Compliance: Ensure the function operates in accordance with health safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Position requires the individual to be onsite 5 days a week.
Your Profile / Qualifications
Educational Background
Relevant degree or equivalent qualification Business Management Electrical Electronic Mechanical Process or Production Engineering
Lean Six Sigma certification Preferable.
NEBOSH or IOSH certification preferable
Professional Knowledge and Experience
Extensive experience in manufacturing and production management within a midsized or larger company.
Proven track record of leading largescale production operations including managing multidisciplinary teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Indepth knowledge of industry standards regulations and best practices in quality control lean manufacturing
Strong background in budget management and cost optimization.
Other Skills and Competencies
Proficiency in MS Office 365; knowledge of SAP is highly advantageous.
Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of managing and guiding teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and decisionmaking abilities.
Customercentric mindset.
Excellent internal stakeholder management.
