A leading Londonbased law firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Private Client & Tax Group.
The team sits within a wider Private Capital Group and offers a full service to a diverse and highprofile client base.
Clients include wealthy individuals family offices trustees financial institutions startups and established businesses. Many are connected to the technology finance media entertainment and sports industries. The client base is both UKbased and international with particular strengths in the Middle East and US markets.
This is a strong opportunity to engage in a broad range of highlevel work within a recognised Private Client & Tax practice. The Private Capital Group is a growing and highly ranked team (Band 2 Chambers & Partners HNW 2023) within the private client space.
Key responsibilities:
Will drafting and succession planning including structuring onshore and offshore trusts foundations family investment companies and partnerships
Advising on inheritance tax reliefs exemptions double tax treaties and planning exercises
Crossborder succession planning including conflict of law issues and working with foreign counsel
Advice on tax residency and domicile income tax capital gains tax remittance basis split year treatment overseas workday relief and double tax treaties
Supporting trustees and beneficiaries with rights responsibilities and trust restructuring
Advising on legal matters related to loss of mental capacity including preparation and registration of lasting powers of attorney
Guidance on private capital use in philanthropy and impact investment including advice to charities on charity law
Advice on compliance reporting transparency and anticorruption issues
UK residential property holding structures: tax advice covering income tax CGT IHT corporate tax ATED and SDLT
General private client and taxrelated issues as they arise
Candidate Profile
The firm is looking to hire an England & Walesqualified solicitor with between 46 years postqualification experience.
You must have:
Excellent academic background
Strong technical legal skills
Solid training ideally gained in a firm known for its private client work
The ideal candidate will be:
Commercially minded and able to exercise sound judgment
Comfortable working independently while recognising when to seek guidance
Proactive confident personable and selfdriven
