Job Description
Job Summary:
Leads a team of plant maintenance staff according to the Supervisor/Managers direction in order to ensure safe timely and efficient operation of all plant machinery and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Leads a team in the processes and activities for maintaining all plant machinery to ensure safe continual and efficient operation.
- Ensures that periodic and preventive maintenance are accomplished according to the Maintenance Supervisors/Managers direction.
- Communicates to production staff equipment break downs and estimated time needed to complete repairs.
- Ensures team members comply with all safety and good Manufacturing practices.
- Conveys all worker grievances to Maintenance Supervisor or Manager.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Expected to perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plant maintenance staff in a lead role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Twoyear college or university program degree in relevant Engineering discipline (mechanical electrical chemical or food processing) Industrial Management or other technical discipline or 2 years experience working as a team lead in a manufacturing environment focused on process improvement.
- Critical thinking skills problem solving strategy development and implementation experience required.
- Experience implementing predictive/preventive maintenance programs.
- Above average verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills ability to build relationships and maintain a positive working environment.
- Strong computer application skills in a network environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to climb stairs stand for extended periods of time and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in and around heavy industrial equipment with multiple moving parts and extreme temperatures.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Hot and wet environment.
- Strong odors.
- Must be willing to work all shifts including overtime and weekends as needed.
