Principal Office Technician

$4692 to $5813 Monthly

Under general direction plans organizes coordinates schedules assigns and reviews the functions and activities of an assigned clerical unit to ensure the timely and accurate collection registration processing and distribution of records documents and reports.

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following

Knowledge:
  • Procedures and regulations of employee selection and training
  • General office practices procedures and equipment including clerical recordkeeping filing and collection/distribution systems and techniques
  • Concepts and application of scheduling and time management
  • Telephone techniques and etiquette
  • Correct English usage grammar spelling punctuation and vocabulary
  • Principles of database management systems
  • Basic Microsoft Office Word Excel and Outlook
  • Fundamental concepts of employment laws codes and regulations including EEO FLSA FMLA and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Online recordkeeping systems (Google Drive Dropbox etc.)

Required Education and ExperienceEducation:Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Experience:Three years of clerical experience including the operation of electronic records and archival management systems.

Additional Requirements:Lead experience is desirable. Positions in this classification may be required to safely lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and push carts weighing up to 50 pounds and the ability to walk stoop bend kneel crouch and reach with hands and arms. A valid California drivers license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites may be required.

Hybrid remote schedules may be available.

Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of performance exam and technical interview.
