You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAwena Virtual School are seeking two experienced educational professionals to join our team of Outreach Learning Advocates. These vacancies are for the Penwith Kerrier and Restormal localities. Both roles are term time only (39 weeks) and are a Grade 3 salary of. One role will be for a period of 12 months for maternity cover and the second will be initially offered on a 12 month fixed term contract we are also open to considering secondment opportunities.
Role Responsibilities:
You will be required to take a proactive role as a key member of the Virtual School team in all aspects of the education support needs of children in care (CiC) previously looked after children (PLAC) and also where appropriate children with a social worker (CREN) to promote and uphold the United Nations Conventions Rights of the Child.
The post holder will deliver and provide appropriate academic and social emotional mental health & wellbeing to this group of children and take responsibility for agreed learning / support activities under an agreed system of supervision from both the Childs school and Awenas Senior Leadership Team (SLT). You will undertake specialist 11 work and attend Personal Education Planning meetings for the children within the worked locality.
The role will work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to support the delivery of the statutory duties of the Virtual School and support the Childs right to the opportunity to a safe and inclusive education provision for all Children in Care and children with a Social Worker; considering the child in the context of their family education and health provision.
