DNV Energy Systems group has an exciting opportunity for aPower System Study Engineer in its Renewables & Power Grids service area. Our team provides creative cost effective and practical solutions to stakeholders in the power generation transmission and distribution Engineer must demonstrate vision and drive and be passionate about contributing to the growth of the Power Systems Advisory business in North America. The ideal candidate willcontribute in delivering technical insights and providing customers with excellent customer service.

What Youll Do

  • Perform electricalSystem Impact Studies such as Steady State Dynamic and Transient Stability analyses for generation large load interconnections in PSS/E
  • Perform Short Circuit studies in ASPEN
  • Perform Voltage ride through (VRT) tests dynamic model quality tests model benchmarking
  • Perform transmission planning & compliance assessments for bulk electric power system in PSS/E
  • Produce and/or review technical reports and presentations for external Customers
  • Timely completion of projects assigned while meeting project quality and project budget
  • Develop or modify automation scripts to enhance the efficiency speed and accuracy of technical simulations
  • Stay up to date with relevant NERC ISO/RTO planning procedures policy changes and developments
  • Contribute to the teams research and innovation activities in terms of development of new techniques and/or analytical tools to further the teams performance in terms of efficiency and/or capability improvements
  • Cultivate customer relationships technical advisory support for generations and large load interconnections connecting to transmission system

This role is based at our DNV office in Dallas (TX) Austin (TX) Houston (TX) Oak Brook (IL) Portland (OR) Seattle (WA) Medford (MA) or San Diego (CA) presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site. Further details regarding rolespecific requirements will be shared during the interview process.

The position may also be considered at other DNV offices within US.

**Benefits vary based on position tenure location and employee election**

For California Washington New York Washington D.C. Illinois and Maryland: DNV provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. The actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set level of experience and specific location. For the states of California Washington New York Washington D.C. Illinois and Maryland only the starting pay range for this role is $83000 $135000.
