We are looking for two Technicians to join our animal experimentation parttime team at the Vall dHebron Research Institute. The candidate will focus on developing in vivo animal models of musculoskeletal pathologies.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Advanced Technician (Higher Vocational Training FPII)
Training in processing tissue samples from both small and large animal models
Certification for research personnel in the handling of animals for experimental and scientific purposes
Fluency in Catalan Spanish and English.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Previous experience conducting preclinical studies using animal models for musculoskeletal pathologies
- Experience in histology and immunohistochemistry analysis
- Strong ability to work independently and manage projects autonomously
- Expertise in processing tissue samples from animal models for histology and immunohistochemistry analysis
- Ability to evaluate musculoskeletal disorders and injuries in animal tissue samples
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary health teams in animal model studies
Desired:
- Ability to contribute to medical research in musculoskeletal pathologies and orthopedics
- Preferred experience in the field of traumatology and musculoskeletal (muscle and tendon) surgery
- Ability to conduct scientific research and publish in specialized journals
- Knowledge of bioengineering and cell therapy for treating musculoskeletal and osteoarticular pathologies
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Design and organize preclinical studies using both small and large animal models
- Perform musculoskeletal surgeries on animal models
- Process tissue samples from animal models and carry out histological and immunohistochemical analyses
Labour conditions:
- Two positions
- Parttime position: 10h/week
- Starting date: Immediate
- Gross annual salary: 6.500 euros (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
