Description

Position Purpose:

The Lead Editor at GTN Studios plays a significant role within the postproduction process. The Lead Editor will support the PostProduction Manager to oversee and guide the editing team to ensure the timely and efficient completion of highquality broadcast video content. This role requires advanced editing skills management capabilities and the ability to mentor other editors within the team. The Lead Editor will assist in maintaining consistent editing standards streamlining workflows providing training editing special/challenging projects and ensuring all deliverables meet the requirements of GTN Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Essential Duties:

  • Supervise evaluate and guide the editing team to ensure quality and productivity.
  • Provide training coaching and skill development for junior editors mentees and interns.
  • Take the lead in editing key projects ensuring they align with the networks creative vision and technical specifications.
  • Oversee the editing of complex or highprofile content ensuring superior quality and attention to detail.
  • Develop and share best practices for file management content review and postproduction processes.
  • Work closely with the GTN Studio production team producers technical directors and other departments to ensure all editorial needs are understood and met.
  • Take part in Technical Directing and work with GTN Studio Technicians.
  • Review content to ensure that the final product adheres to network standards including color correction audio mixing visual effects and motion graphics.
  • Keep the team up to date with the latest editing techniques software updates and industry trends.
  • Investigate and assist with the implementation of new tools or methods that can improve workflow or enhance content.
  • Ensure a balanced workload and optimal resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with producers to understand their vision for projects and provide creative direction during postproduction. Offer suggestions for improvements in both creative and technical aspects.
  • Organize and maintain an archive of edited content for easy access and future use. Ensure media assets are securely stored and easily retrievable.
  • Communicate regularly with the PostProduction Manager to align editorial needs with production schedules and deliverables.

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced skill in digital technology and editing software i.e. Davinci Resolve Fairlight Fusion Adobe Premiere. (After Effects Photoshop Adobe Audition a plus)
  • Knowledge of timing motivation continuity audience awareness etc.
  • Proficiency in operating audio visual and lighting equipment.
  • Strong creative and storytelling skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good problemsolving skills.
  • Must be able to operate a Mac computer.
  • Advanced skills in color correction sound editing motion graphics and visual effects.
  • Strong understanding of broadcast technical specifications and video standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively mentor evaluate and collaborate with a team.
  • GTN Studios Lead Editor is expected to be selfreliant and able to take a project from start to finish with minimal supervision.
  • This position may involve guiding and mentoring junior editors interns and apprentices.
  • Detailoriented with a commitment to producing highquality content.

Requirements:

  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Must sign the Statement of Faith.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission and values of Andrew Wommack Ministries and Charis Bible College.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent education is required.
  • A bachelors degree in a related field (e.g. film production media studies) or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of video editing experience.
  • Proven experience as a video editor with a diverse portfolio of highquality work.
  • Must be passionate about providing a quality audience experience.
  • Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred. Film School credentials are desirable.
  • Must pass all required checks.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Editor III/Story Editor II or similar role within a postproduction environment.
  • At least 35 years of experience in editing with a strong portfolio of work highlighting advanced skills.
  • Previous management or leadership experience in overseeing a team.
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience.
