Job Summary
This role is responsible for all aspects of plant operations of the assigned manufacturing plant including safety production quality engineering maintenance warehousing and people. The Plant Manager is responsible for planning directing and coordinating all work activities and resources necessary for optimal manufacturing to achieve all plant business and company goals and objectives. Ideally the candidate will have a handson type approach to plant management with a bias towards implementing best practices establishing and developing a high performing team and creating a culture of continuous improvement in safety service quality cost and people.
Essential Functions
Accountable for ensuring the plant operates in accordance with all safety health and environmental regulations and requirements. Provides the direction and necessary resources to meet safety and environmental performance goals. Builds and sustains a strong safety culture that ensures safe work practices with focus on preventative actions.
Build a culture of collaboration trust and early escalation of issues and concerns. Create a strong work culture that emphasizes teamwork and continuous improvement. Promotes teamwork and productivity via open communication timely decision making and individual accountability within the team.
Creates and supports an organizational culture that encourages and rewards employee involvement innovative thinking customer focus and continuous improvement.
Leads the plants sustainability efforts to achieve Avients 2030 Sustainability goals of reducing waste to landfill and energy consumption.
Assures attainment of plant objectives and production schedules while ensuring product standards to exceed customer expectations.
Ensures standards for product quality equipment and production performance are maintained and that costeffective technology is used to maximize production
Drive lean initiatives and is the primary advocate for a continuous improvement culture
Develops a Plant operating plan that is consistent with and supports the annual business plan.
Develops and manages a capital plan that supports the business strategy and improves Plant operations.
Ensures the Plant achieves its annual operating budget and other KPIs.
Manages salaried staff providing direction and guidance in the execution of their responsibilities to meet Plant objectives and targets.
Provides coaching mentoring and training for all plant employees. Ensures career development goals are identified and plans put in place to support them. Responsible for ensuring all performance reviews are completed in accordance with Avients requirements and timelines.
The ability to implement change when necessary.
Effectively represents Avient to the external community including active involvement in local civic groups ongoing coordination with regulatory agencies and effective interface with emergency response services
Maintain compliance with all applicable laws regulations and company policies.

Competencies
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in engineering business or related technical discipline required; Masters degree in operations management engineering or related field preferred.
10 years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing facility
5 years manufacturing leadership experience managing 25 employees on a multiple shift operation with budgetary responsibility
Formal Lean and SixSigma training including successful demonstration of implementation in a manufacturing environment preferred.
OSHA certification or training preferred.
