Job Description

PARALEGAL POSITION

Holliday Energy Law Group is looking for candidates to join our growing team primarily to assist in the operations of a transactional law practice. Candidates must have excellent written and verbal English and a full command of Microsoft office products. This role will assist attorneys in preparing written legal work product for clients and will require a strong command of Microsoft Word and Excel.

While experience is not required ideal candidates will have 25 years of direct experience either as a transactional paralegal or inhouse with a real estate or oil and gas company.

Responsibilities

Your primary external responsibilities will be to support attorneys who provide legal advice in the form of title opinions and legal memoranda on oil and gas law issues that arise in the course of conducting exploration and production activities. This will primarily come in the form of reading and editing written work product and preparing the final version of work product to deliver to clients. This also involves:

  • Editing written legal documents
  • Preparing legal document templates
  • Migrating data from MSExcel into MSWord
  • Preparing maps of the lands being worked on by attorneys
  • Maintaining the project electronic filing system
  • Updating project inventory reports
  • Client project intake

Holliday Energy Law Group follows the Rockefeller Habits and operates on a quarterly planning cycle. For an entire day each quarter we gather as a team with our professional coach to review our performance over the last 90 days and establish billable process improvement and other targets for the firm to achieve in the coming 90 days. Each firmwide priority that we establish is supported by individual priorities which are drafted and executed by the individual team members. Internally you will play a role in the planning and execution of these priorities.

Requirements

  • Strong command of written English and the ability to edit documents for spelling and grammar.
  • Proficiency in MSWord MSExcel MSPowerPoint.
  • Nice to have2 to 5 years of title transactional litigation experience.

Performance Metrics/KPIs/Needle Movers for This Role

Your performance will be measured based on the following:

  • Attaining an individual annual billable hour goal.
  • Quality of work product.
  • Achieving individual nonbillable quarterly priorities that supporting the firms strategic initiatives.
