Position Summary:

The role of a Tax and Business Compliance Manager involves overseeing all aspects of tax compliance and ensuring adherence to relevant business regulations. This position requires expertise in tax laws financial reporting and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities may include:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Tax Planning: Developing tax strategies to minimize the organizations tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Tax Compliance: Managing and overseeing the preparation and filing of various tax returns including income tax sales tax and payroll tax returns to meet all regulatory requirements and deadlines.
  • Financial Reporting: Collaborating with accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting including the preparation of financial statements and disclosures related to tax matters.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential tax risks and implementing controls to mitigate them ensuring that the organization remains in compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Audit Support: Coordinating and facilitating tax audits by government authorities providing necessary documentation and support to auditors and resolving any issues that may arise during the audit process.
  • Policy Development: Developing and implementing tax policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
  • Research and Analysis: Staying informed about changes in tax laws and regulations conducting research on tax issues affecting the organization and providing guidance on the potential impact of regulatory changes.
  • Training and Education: Providing training and education to internal stakeholders on tax compliance matters ensuring that employees understand their responsibilities and the importance of compliance.
  • Vendor Management: Overseeing relationships with external tax advisors consultants and vendors to ensure the organization receives highquality tax services and advice.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with other departments such as legal finance and operations to address crossfunctional tax and compliance issues and achieve organizational goals.

Overall the Tax and Business Compliance Manager plays a critical role in safeguarding the organizations financial and legal interests by ensuring compliance with tax laws and business regulations.

Qualifications

Requirements and Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in Tax Compliance
  • Bachelors degree in law Taxation Accounting Finance or a related field
  • Superior mathematical and analytical skills and an eye for detail
  • Experience with preparing and submitting tax statements tax returns and the corresponding financial statements.
  • Familiarity with federal and state tax policies and regulations
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • CA CPA and similar certifications are considered a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software and research tools.
