Quartus is a key contributor to aerospace advancements specializing in engineering simulation and custom hardware. Weve played a vital role in a diverse range of optical systems launch vehicle and spacecraft projects involving design analysis testing and hardware assembly and integration. Our aerospace sector expertise also includes aircraft structural design analysis and testing including support for FAA certifications. Quartus excels in commercial and defense aircraft applications as well as custom optical systems like laser communications terminals and lidar payloads with both aerial and space applications.
We are looking for Aerospace Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Structural Engineering students interested in working in a fastpaced multidisciplinary environment and who are excited about assisting on a variety of projects to join our growing team. Some examples of projects students have worked on in the past include design analysis software & control systems development prototype development and/or testing of satellites aircraft structures launch vehicles composite UAVs cell phones telescopes and optomechanical laser and camera assemblies.
o Work alongside engineers to contribute to the advancement of projects including conducting research and gathering data
o Participate in the design process by creating drawings models or simulations. Assist in analyzing designs
o Help in hands on assembly and building prototypes of designs
o Support in conducting tests to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement
o Assist in documenting project progress including creating reports drawings and specifications. This may also involve maintaining records of test results and design changes
o Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including engineers from different disciplines as well as project managers and other stakeholders
o Work on troubleshooting and solving engineering problems as they arise
Position is based on site in Herndon VA.
Quartus is looking for aspiring individuals who want to make a difference in the world and in themselves. Our ideal internship candidates are:
Sophomores Juniors or Seniors currently enrolled at a fouryear institution
Majoring in an Aerospace Engineering Mechanical Engineering Structural Engineering or related field
Proactive openminded eager to learn and willing to work hard as part of a team
Interested in FEA (finite element analysis)
Available full time for specified term (40 hours per week)
Must be a US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident)
Intern/Coop pay range for students pursuing a Bachelors degree: $24.00 28.00/hour*
Intern/Coop pay range for students pursuing a Masters degree: $28.00 32.00/hour*
*This range represents base pay. In addition you may be eligible for additional benefits and compensation.
