The UCDSB is currently hiring for a CoOp Program Teacher to prep for the Summer Semester.

POSITION: CoOp Program Teacher
LOCATION: TBD

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1

*TERM: June 2 2025 June 27 2025 (total of 30 hours)

HOURS: Monday through Friday in twohour increments between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Salary article 24.06 con ed rate under provision of Bill 124
Travel may be required

Summary:Under the direction of the Principal TR Leger the incumbent will work to implement UCDSB initiatives for the safe delivery of the CoOp Summer School Program.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Attend planning meetings with the Principal and other summer school staff to coordinate organize and prepare for:
  • Attend Coop summer semester teacher orientation session
  • Review all Coop information sheets curriculum forms websites assignments and slide decks from thesummer school semester and make effective updates in preparation for the upcoming summer school semester
  • Prepare materials needed for the Summer School Coop teachers
  • Prepare materials needed for the Summer School Coop students
  • Review Summer School Coop applications for completion course links eligibility
  • Plan implement and deliver the Coop summer semester teacher orientation session
  • Support the Summer School Coop teachers with planning implementing and delivering their Coop summer semester student orientation session
  • Support summer school coop teachers by fielding questions from them during the summer school session regarding coop student placements courses and challenges and achievement
  • Liaise with the Principal and other administrative staff as required
  • Utilize knowledge and expertise to share best practices with summer coop teachers
  • Ensure all summer school coop marks are reported and files are returned to TR Leger School at the end of the summer school semester
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Demonstrate excellent detailed knowledge of the current Ministry of Education Coop Education Document policies and procedures
  • Know eligibility requirements for OYAP as well as policies and procedures regarding participation and registration in a trade
  • Be adept while utilizing MTEL
  • Be familiar with Summer School Semester timelines curriculum and course delivery methods

Qualifications and Experience:

Qualifications:
  • An Ontario Teachers Certificate of Qualification
  • Member of the Ontario College of Teachers in good standing
  • Qualifications in Intermediate/Senior
  • Minimum of three years fulltime equivalent teaching experience in CoOp
  • Part 1 Additional Qualification for CoOp preferred

The UCDSB requires your current and two most recent direct supervisors if applicable.

If your experience is in a daytoday occasional capacity ensure that you list the length of time that you worked for that Supervisor and whether the assignment was casual daytoday or in a longterm occasional capacity.

Placement Teacher References: If providing a Placement Teacher as a reference The UCDSB will require confirmation and approval from the Principal at the Placement School that the deferred reference (Placement Teacher) is approved to provide reference on behalf of the Principal.

The UCDSB does not accept colleagues or personal relationships as references.

Selection Process:

Positions are filled in accordance with the OSSTF Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement and/or PPM 165 where applicable.
