Description

MiniCircuits designs manufactures and distributes integrated circuits modules and subsystems for highperformance radio frequency (RF) and microwave design sales and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries MiniCircuits products are used in a range of wired and wireless communications applications. Our products are also used in detection measurement and imaging applications including military communication guidance and electronic countermeasure systems commercial scientific military land sea and aircraft; automotive systems medical systems and industrial test equipment.

MiniCircuits sells its products to over 20000 customers globally through our direct sales force applications engineering staff sales representatives as well as through our extensive website.

Position Summary:

The Documentation Systems Manager will lead the technical documentation function within the Marketing Communications department to achieve and maintain worldclass accuracy and consistency of information within our portfolio of more than 7000 catalog models. This role will evaluate the tools and processes governing datasheet production and collaborate with stakeholders across the global organization to identify opportunities for innovation and implement new solutions to support the needs of internal and external customers.

The Documentation Systems Manager will develop and maintain a coherent set of operating procedures and training materials to foster quality. Meet regularly with internal clients to understand needs and identify gaps in service. Maintain departmental metrics and KPIs for quarterly business reviews and reinforce the companys guiding principles of quality and continuous improvement. Oversee quarterly production schedule and allocate resources to deliver finished assets on time and error free. Key contributor to the transition to a new Product Information Management (PIM) system. This is a leadership role with direct oversight of a small team of documentation specialists and indirect accountability to clients in five business units.

Salary Range: $110000 $140000 per year

Job Function:

  • Oversee creation and layout of model datasheets from engineering inputs through catalog release on the company website.
  • Oversee product photography for datasheets and website catalog pages.
  • Collaborate with product line engineers to design and maintain library of templates for all model datasheet types to ensure consistency of format and style across all product lines and engineering groups globally
  • Evaluate tools and processes to identify opportunities for improvement through leading technologies and automation
  • Work with international facilities to ensure conformity to global style guidelines and document templates and facilitate the approval and release process.
  • Maintain uptodate documentation within the company Quality Management System for departmental processes related to controlled product documentation ensure conformity to documented standards and support requirements for internal and external quality auditing.
  • Collect and maintain departmental metrics and KPIs for the technical documentation function within marketing communications for quarterly business reviews.
  • Establish Allocate resources to modernize legacy datasheets to new style standards on priority basis.
  • Allocate resources to update datasheets as needed for spec changes redesigns and other changes in product form or function with related ECO processing.
  • Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency and work across departments and facilities to implement effective solutions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of technical publication specialists in executing the above responsibilities. Hire train and support staff members to ensure strong knowledge management and functional resiliency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorss Degree in engineering technical writing computer science design or equivalent years of experience.
  • 710 years of experience in technical documentation development
  • Minimum of five years in a supervisory or management position preferably in an engineering documentation environment.
  • Strong process management skills.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across department lines with process stakeholders in engineering marketing IT and senior management.
  • Strong client relationship management skills and customerfirst mentality.
  • Advanced experience in a variety of technical documentation management systems (CCMS software XML DITA or similar)
  • Experience managing product data and assets through enterprise PIM technologies
  • Fluency with quantitative and technical information including engineering drawings data tables and plots Familiarity with electrical and electronic hardware a big plus.
  • Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with existing Company portfolio of products and related specifications.
  • Mastery of Adobe applications and integrations including InDesign Illustrator Photoshop andInCopy.
  • Practical programming skills and experience especially in Python and Javascript.
  • Basic familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platforms
  • Ability to interpret and plot data in MS Excel.
  • Comfort and familiarity working within a quality management system with processes for revision control.
  • Ability to read write and speak in English.
