The Role

Strategic Finance improves financial and operational decisionmaking across Block. You Will:

• Report the financial planning process for important products and teams; including building/maintaining and reviewing operating and financial models.
• Be the primary Finance Business Partner (FBP) with key teams within our Square organization and collaborate across all levels and departments in the organization
• Support strategic decisions including projects on pricing design customer behavior analysis and economics LTV / Return on investment of marketing efforts market/competitive landscape benchmarking and other datadriven analysis
• Create and/or review analyses that facilitates clear decisionmaking mine data from our databases to predict shortterm and longterm trends
• Evaluate our performance; report the performance; identify any risks or opportunities associated with reported financial data
• Partner with our GotoMarket teams (Sales Marketing Partnerships etc) on strategy and execution with the aim of increasing the size and efficiency of our acquisition motions.
• Partner with the International Accounting team on transactional and financial close matters to ensure accuracy over financial statement reporting
• Partner with departments (e.g. Accounting Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Sales and Marketing and others) to report on the financial impact of decisions across the company
• Prepare analysis and support communication to product leaders board members and executive staff

You Have

• 10 years post qualified and relevant industry experience
• A finance qualification or relevant working experience within strategy finance
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Proven ability to lead strategic projects and make datadriven recommendations
• Proactively develop and implement financial strategies to support the growth plans
• Ability to multitask prioritize and meet deadlines
• Strong financial background; deep expertise in financial modelling and analysis and Excel (there will be a case study)
• Experience with SQL / Hyperion
