Job Description

Set up and manufacture items based on information detailed in engineering drawings in accordance with set times.
Need to read and understand engineering drawings
Machine of parts at high tolerances and assembling of machines.
Measure and inspect own work to ensure that it meets the specifications detailed on the drawings.
Accountable for housekeeping in area around machine
Accountable for own safety safety of machine and the work environment
Do basic maintenance on machine.
Perform daily safety inspections on machine(s)
Suggest and make improvements on quality efficiency and safety aspects of the job
Assist in the training of new incumbents/multitasking the workshop
Accountable for contributing to building a high performance high morale engineering team
Assist management with daily workshop related tasks
Work Overtime when required at short notice.
Assist with standby and call outs when required
Own transport



Qualifications & Experience
  • N2 qualification
  • Must be a qualified artisan with minimum 35 year Machining experience post trade test on the Job as a Miller
  • 5 to 10 years of experience as advantageous.
  • Indepth knowledge of engineering related principles and standards
  • Problem solving related to machining
  • Read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Advantage have knowledge on CNC machine
  • Advantage Have Turning Experience
