The Clinic Manager oversees the clinical services and patient care support staff for the Midwestern University Eye Institute. The Manager ensures excellent customer service and excellent clinical outcomes by supervising the daily operations of the Eye Institute including emergent issues. The Manager ensures a clean environment and compliance to all regulatory expectations of the AZ Department of Health. The position reports to the Director of Clinical Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities
The position is responsible for the indirect supervision of all Optometry staff members within the Eye Institute. Directly supervises optical staff patient referral coordinator and the ophthalmic medical technician.

This position requires a significant amount of interaction with the public and many internal customers and therefore the individual must be able to develop positive rapport effectively. The ability to work independently learn detailed procedures identify problems develop corrective strategies and familiarity with the clinic management system Epic is essential.
Education and/or Experience
A minimum of an Associates degree is required Bachelors degree preferred. Must have at least 35 years of supervisory experience in a clinic setting preferably in an optometry or ophthalmology office with at least 710 years of experience in a clinical setting. Must have strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance. Understanding of regulatory requirements. Must have experience with accurate clinical documentation assisting in EMR training and generating reports for audits or quality initiatives. A history working with clinical and operational teams including providers technicians schedules and leadership is required. Knowledge of eye and medical billing is highly desired. Strong interpersonal skills problemsolving abilities and excellent analytical skills are necessary to succeed in this role.
Computer Skills
Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel Outlook). Proficiency with the Epic clinic management system.
Language Skills
High skills: Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to top management and boards of directors.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand walk stoop kneel crouch or crawl use hands to handle or feel reach with hands and arms talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and sit. The employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
